Disassociate Yourself From Planned Nationwide Protest – Comr. Barma Tells Youths
A Patriotic Citizen and Concerned Youth, Comrade Barma M.Y, Calls on Youth to disassociate themselves from the planned protest and Join Hands in Safeguarding the Integrity, Unity, and Peace of Our Beloved Country Nigeria.
As a patriotic citizen and loyal to our beloved country Nigeria, I am compelled to address the planned protests by our youth, which I believe are being instigated by forces against Nigeria’s progress, sponsored and initiated by the antagonists of Nigeria.
Our dear youth failed the ability to comprehend the reality of what is happening and are misled by false information, part of the Nigerian enemies’ plan to actualize their negative mission over the good people and future leaders of tomorrow.
Today, I find it very significant to call on my fellow youth, fellow Nigerians, and all citizens to put the national interest first; our nation should be secured by us. A protest is a constitutional right by citizens in any country, but it should be governed and guided according to the constitution.
Have you thought of the negative outcome of the protest if it goes wrong, for which the organizers have no blueprint nor structure to address the challenges formally?
I am very sure that many youths are not aware of what could happen and the motive behind organizing this uncalled-for protest full of unconstitutional acts and unreasonable ways of addressing problems, but to trigger violence.
At this current time, where enemies of Nigeria are everywhere, organizing such protests is detrimental to our peace and unity.
I recall that, in subsequent gatherings where people come out to express joy over some election victory, for example, people’s businesses and shops are vulnerable to attack, where some are even attacked, stolen goods, and damaged properties to some extent, all in the name of jubilation. Imagine what will happen if such people come out to protest for their rights, converting people’s goods to their own, obtaining properties illegally, just for the privilege of being part of the protesters. A total shutdown of businesses, damages, and injuries will surely occur if care is not taken.
There is a need for our youth to think deeply and know that we have many ways to address our problems, but not to embark on this misguided attitude of protest that even the organizers are scared of expressing themselves to the public talk less of presenting the designed path to success across all sectors of the federation.
Going by history, let’s take a lesson from Libya (2011), where the protests and NATO intervention led to the ousting and killing of Muhammad Gaddafi, but the country descended into chaos, with rival militias and extremist groups vying for control, leading to human rights abuses and a massive refugee crisis.
Also, in Nigeria (2020), the #EndSARS protests against police brutality turned violent, resulting in deaths, injuries, and property damage.
These examples illustrate the potential negative outcomes of protests, leading to the loss of lives and properties.
I therefore call on youth and all concerned citizens to disassociate themselves from the protest, stop it, and put our country first.
I urge our youth to consider the potential negative outcomes of protests, where protests lead to devastating consequences, such as economic decline and social unrest. Instead of protests, let’s explore alternative solutions to address our problems formally and intellectually.
Economic hardship is a global crisis that affects the world, not only Nigeria.
Our government is already taking steps and working tirelessly to address this hardship such as the minimum wage approved by His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinub, incentives sent across all states, and other palliatives as well as trying to address the issue of petroleum in the country through the proper channels.
I call on our youth and good citizens to put the national interest first, prioritize peace and unity, and disassociate themselves from this misguided protest.
Let’s work together to build a better Nigeria for all.
