IKENNA UKWA INTERACTS WITH ABAM APC WOMEN LEADERS,
… Pledges to Empower The Traders With Business Support Grant
The Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President of Nigeria, Hon (Dr) Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa has pledged to empower traders among the ABAM All Progressive Congress, APC women with a business support grant to boost their businesses. This was disclosed during an interactive session with the APC women leaders in Abam held on Friday 17th October 2025, in Ozu Abam, Arochukwu LGA of Abia State.
The meeting, which was convened by Chief Mrs Ezinne Udo Uduma, the APC women leader, Abia State, on the instance of Chief Ikenna Hon Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa also afforded the Philanthropist and consummate leader the opportunity to inform the women that he is working assiduously to attract solar powered street lights for the Abam community by the first quarter of next year and urged them to remain resolute, even as he is committed to prioritizing their welfare and general well-being.
“I thank you all for attending this meeting. Your presence here means a lot to me and it demonstrates the love you have for IUPG and the APC at large. I will always carry you all along in everything we are doing and I want you all to know that your welfare will remain my utmost priority ‘, he added.












Earlier in her speech, Chief Mrs Ezinne Udo Uduma while thanking the women for trooping out enmasse to grant Ikenna Ukwa a warm reception, urged them to continue to support the APC both at the ward, LGA, State and the National level, assuring them of Ikenna Ukwa’s selfless determination and passion to better their lives.
Mrs Ezinne used the medium to highlight some of the notable achievements of Chief Ikenna Ukwa, which he has facilitated even while not holding any elective political position, but with his contacts and resources. They include;
- Solar powered street lights in Abiriba, Ebem, Okon, Amaekpu, Elu and Oboro communities in Ohafia LGA and Ututu, Isu, Ihechiowa and Obinkita communities in Arochukwu LGA,
- Distribution of food items and fertilisers to women in communities in Ohafia and Arochukwu LGAs,
- Distribution of academic materials to primary and secondary schools in Ohafia,
- Facilitated the construction of a modern girls hostel in Federal Government College Ohafia,
- Free medical outreaches and eye tests for Okagwe, Amaekpu, Akanu communities in Ohafia and Uzuakoli in Bende LGA, among others,
- Educational support and bursaries to indigent pupils and students in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in Nigeria,
- Payment of hospital bills for those in need,
- Provision of sewing machines to artisans in Elu and Amaekpu communities, among others.
Chief Mrs Ezinne added that Ikenna Ukwa isn’t relenting but still working tirelessly to ensure that other communities in Ohafia and Arochukwu LGAs benefit from his generosity and long term development plans. She, therefore, implored the women to extend hands of fellowship to other women to join the party and Ikenna Ukwa Progressive Group and rally round to provide unalloyed support to him in his future life endeavours.
Also speaking, a former Commissioner in Abia State and APC stalwart, Hon Chidiebere Uwagwu commended the efforts of Chief Ikenna Ukwa in unifying all the APC members and stakeholders in the Federal Constituency and assured the women that Ikenna will remain committed in his avowed determination to alleviate the sufferings of the populace through provision of infrastructures and basic amenities and empowerment.
The visibly elated women, in unison, expressed delight for the meeting and promised their unalloyed support and loyalty, even as they are committed in ensuring that Ikenna Ukwa succeeds in his desired ambition.
