The Dependable Patriots for Nation Building and Transformation Initiative, a Civil Society group in Nigeria has challenged the Chief Justice of Nigeria Justice Kekere-ekun to toe the path of honour and resign immediately.
The group while commending the Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji for being honourable indeed; by resigning from office following allegations of certificate forgery, has called on Justice Kekere-ekun to resign immediately for sustaining endemic corruption in Nigeria’s judiciary.
Briefing news men in Abuja on Tuesday, the Secretary of the Civil Society Group, Malam Ali Abacha berated the Chief Justice of Nigeria for imposing a Judge who parades a forged birth certificate as the acting Chief Judge of Imo State.

It will be recalled that the Civil Society Group had presented incontrovertible evidence to the NJC through a petition against the imposed acting Chief Judge of Imo State, Justice Ijeoma Agugua for falsifying her date of birth and for swearing under Oath to validate her fake age.
In spite of the overwhelming evidence before the NJC, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kekere-ekun went ahead to impose the certificate forger as the acting Chief judge of Imo State.
If a Minister, who is an ordinary Citizen can exhibit this high level of integrity by resigning from office even when the allegation has not yet been proven before a Court of Law, what then should we expect from a Judge who is supposed to be above reproach?, Comrade Malam Abacha questioned.
The Civil Society Group also called out the Nigerian Bar Association NBA for playing the Ostrich by joining those who called on Minister Uche Nnaji to resign while looking the other way when Justice Kekere-ekun imposed a Certificate forger as an Acting Chief Judge of Imo State. This is a clear case of hypocrisy and selective activism, the CSO said.

We will report Justice Kekere-ekun and all members of the Nigerian Judicial Council NJC to the United Nations and the United States Department of Justice for stiff actions to be taken against them; Malam Abacha concluded.
