Today, we join the rest of Nigeria in commemorating our nation’s 65th Independence Day. This momentous occasion is a testament to our resilience, progress, and unwavering commitment to greatness. As we celebrate this milestone, we reflect on the values that have shaped our country and continue to guide us towards a brighter future. Nigeria’s diversity remains our greatest strength.
With over 250 ethnic groups and more than 500 languages, our nation is a vibrant tapestry of cultures, traditions, and beliefs. As we celebrate our independence, we must recommit ourselves to embracing our differences and promoting unity in diversity. By doing so, we can harness our collective potential and build a nation that is truly greater than the sum of its parts.
At 65, we must acknowledge the progress we’ve made while also confronting the challenges that remain. Development is a collective responsibility that requires the active participation of all.
