ATTNEWS reports that last week the village home of one Mr. Nnanna George Udonsi Was looted and property worth millions of Naira stolen and house set on fire at his village mansion located at the back of Benkama Petrol Station and Supermarket, Amaekpu Ohafia.
Our investigation reveal that the perpetrators of this crime operated for more than a day carting away valuables from the home of the victim.
The victim Mr. Nnanna George Udonsi when contacted, confirmed the incident and said when he was contacted from Umuahia where he resides, he thought it was just the usual looting that has been taking place around the neighborhood and decided to come by weekend. It was when he came that it was dawned on him that the entire house was looted and his house set ablaze.
When asked if he has reported to the police, he simply replied that investigation is going on with the police and the local vigilantes and hopeful that the perpetrators will be brought to book.
Breaking and looting of people’s homes in the village has been a recurring incident in Ohafia and it’s neighbouring towns. This includes vandalizing of ongoing constructions and stealing wires and other valuables in it.
Our local vigilantes and Nigerian police should be more proactive in managing this ugly menace especially at this present harsh economic situation in Nigeria
