… Abiriba Enachioken Says As NDDC Hands Over Site To Contractor Handling The Installation Of Solar Powered Street Lights In Abiriba

The Abiriba Enachioken Ezies In Council has commended the Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President of Nigeria, Hon Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa for his tireless efforts in bringing Development to communities in Ohafia and Arochukwu LGAs of Abia State.

The Enachioken of Abiriba, HRM Ezie Barr Kalu Kalu Ogbu and his council of chiefs made the commendation today at his palace in Abiriba when the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC came to hand over the project site to the contractor, Kaplan Consults limited for the installation of solar powered street lights in Amaeke and Amaogudu Abiriba and it’s environs, a project attracted by Chief Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa.

In their separate speeches, HRH, Eme Uguru, the Ukpaghiri Amaogudu Abiriba extolled Ikenna for his grassroots development initiatives. He said Ikenna Ukwa is towing the line of Engr Chief George Nnanna Kalu who carried out massive projects in Abiriba while he held sway as Commissioner for Works in Abia State and ASOPADEC commissioner, hence, why he renamed Chief Ikenna Ukwa as “OGBUWA”, of Abiriba Enachioken for his hardwork and swift responses to the infrastructural needs of communities in Ohafia LGA.

HRH, Uche Benjamin, the Effa of Agborji Abiriba described the project as unprecedented and rare philathropic gestures, adding that they are pleased with his good works and promised that the Abiriba community will grant the contractor the enabling environment to carry out the work seamlessly according to the job specifications.

Finalizing the royal speeches, HRM, Eze K. K. Ogbu, the Enachioken of Abiriba expressed deep gratitude to Ikenna Ukwa for remembering the Abiriba community in his developmental agenda. The revered royal father on behalf of his council of chiefs and the entire Abiriba community used white chalk to pour royal blessings on him, praying to God to guide, protect, and grant him wisdom and success in all his life endeavors.

Earlier in his speech, the NDDC representative from Abia, Engr Ndubuisi Nkwoka said he is here on behalf of the commissioner representing NDDC in Abia, Mr Dimgba Erugba to formally introduce and present the contractor to the community to enable him commence work. He said the President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu ‘s administration has given the Executive Director of NDDC, Dr Sam Ogbuku the mandate to light up all the communities in the Niger Delta region. He told the Abiriba community to thank their son, Chief Ikenna Ukwa for going extra miles to facilitate the project.

Engr Ndubuisi added that the solar lights are meant to be mounted on the streets, government institutions and public places like markets, hospitals, schools and not in individual’s private homes. He therefore, implored the Abiriba community to ensure that the contractor delivers the project at the locations captured on the contract approval letter.

In his speech, the project contractor, Engr Chike Azike promised to deliver a quality job within the stipulated time frame.

High points of the epoch making events are the signing of the contract form by the NDDC officials, the Abiriba Enachioken Ezies in Council and the Contractor.

The event attracted dignitaries and notable sons and daughters of Abiriba, APC party members and stakeholders including friends and well wishers.
