JUST IN: IKENNA UKWA INSPECTS THE ONGOING INSTALLATION OF SOLAR POWERED STREET LIGHTS IN ELU & AMAEKPU OHAFIA

The Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President of Nigeria, Hon Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa tonight inspected the ongoing installation of solar-powered street lights in Elu and Amaekpu Ohafia which he attracted through the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.

The inspection was part of his efforts to ensure that the projects are executed efficiently and effectively in the designated areas mapped out by the domiciled agency as directed by the community leaders.

Conducting Hon Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa and his team round some of the areas, the project contractor, Engr Azike Chike Lawrence of Kaplan Consults limited said the locations mapped out by the Elu community, which includes the Mayten-Amuke road and Union Bank roundabout to Elu daily market and her environs has been completed while the catchment areas in Amaekpu and her environs is 99/% completed.

Chief Ikenna Ukwa while acknowledging cheers from the residents of the benefitting communities expressed satisfaction with the project’s progress. He reaffirmed his determination to keep impacting and supporting projects that benefit Ohafia’s development and improve the people’s quality of life through his foundation, IKENNA & JENN UKWA FOUNDATION, which he co-founded with his wife, Lolo Jennifer Ukwa. He, therefore, used the medium to specially thank his wife, for her continuous support which has ensured success in all the projects the foundation has embarked on.

During the inspection, the women, men and youths who were visibly elated expressed appreciation for the project, adding that the solar powered street lights have improved safety and nighttime visibility, thereby reducing the risk of accidents and crimes in some lonely areas. The youths of Amaekpu and Elu communities in Elu Ohafia promised their unalloyed loyalty and support and prayed to God to keep strengthening him even as he continues to render selfless service to humanity and community at large.
