In observance of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, the Abia State Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection in collaboration with the office of the Wife of ABIA State Governor, Mrs Priscilla Otti, hosted a special event for our senior citizens at the Banquet Hall, Government House.
The preceding advocacy walk underscored their collective responsibility to protect and support our elderly population.
The theme “Addressing Abuse of Older Adults in Abia State: Through Data and Action” highlights the importance of informed strategies. By leveraging data, we can develop effective interventions to prevent and address elder abuse.
As a token of appreciation for their contributions, Priscilla Otti offered our elders some financial support and a free medical outreach, acknowledging their invaluable role in shaping our communities.
