GODA GAINS MORE REGIONAL SUPPORT AS ASAGA DEVELOPMENT UNION AFFIRMS CONFIDENCE IN ENGR. ODUM
The National Executive body of Asaga Development Union (ADU), led by its President-General, Chief Okpa Ibe, has pledged unwavering moral support to the Director General of Greater Ohafia Development Authority (GODA), Engr. Obinna Odum.
This declaration of solidarity was made during a courtesy visit to Engr. Odum at his country residence in Asaga Ohafia, where the community leaders gathered and formally congratulated him on his appointment as the Director General of GODA. They also expressed their hopes for accelerated development under his stewardship.
In his address, Chief Okpa Ibe described the appointment as a recognition of merit and capacity. He used the opportunity to highlight some of the community’s pressing developmental needs, calling for swift intervention of the state government. He also urged the GODA DG to maintain a strong working relationship with the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR.
Also speaking, former Abia State lawmaker and two-time representative of Ohafia South in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Mba Ukaha, reaffirmed the community’s resolve to morally support Engr. Odum, emphasizing their confidence in his ability to deliver on the responsibilities of his office.



Chief Chikezia Ukaha, while speaking acknowledged the importance of sustaining grassroots sensitization to ensure that the people are well-informed, involved, and protective of government projects and facilities being executed in the area. He seized the opportunity and formally invited the DG to an annual ADU meeting coming up in few days.

In his response, Engr. Odum expressed deep gratitude to the distinguished leaders for their support and encouragement. He provided insights into GODA’s current projects and development proposals, including the ongoing asphalt laying of the Amaekpu Ring Road.
He further disclosed that the state government, through GODA, is in active discussions with relevant stakeholders to restore electricity supply to Ohafia and other parts of Abia North experiencing similar challenges.
Engr. Odum concluded by reaffirming Governor Alex Otti’s unwavering commitment to repositioning Abia State on the path of excellence. He called on the people to support the Otti-led administration with passion, unity, and dedication.
