ABIA STATE GOVERNMENT, THROUGH GODA COMMENCES THE RECONSTRUCTION OF EZEUKWU BRIDGE IN BENDE LGA.
Abia State Government, under the leadership of Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has commenced the reconstruction of the failed Ezeukwu Bridge in Alayi, Bende Local Government Area. The project, being executed by the Greater Ohafia Development Authority (GODA), aligns with the Governor’s agenda to improve infrastructure and enhance connectivity in rural communities.

The project scope includes the rehabilitation of an 80 to 100-meter stretch of road and the reconstruction of the Ezeukwu Bridge, incorporating shore protection and continuous reinforced side wings on both flanks to ensure durability and safety.
Ezeukwu Bridge is a critical link between communities, and its collapse had adversely affected socio-economic activities in the region. Once completed, the new bridge is expected to significantly enhance transportation efficiency, promote economic growth, and minimize environmental impact.

The Director General of GODA, Engr. Obinna Odum, expressed the Governor’s commitment to improving rural road infrastructure, reiterating optimism that Dr. Otti’s agenda would not only enhance rural life but also stimulate economic development across the region.
He further emphasized that the administration of Dr. Alex Otti is dedicated to delivering infrastructure that aligns with global best practices, urging residents to support the ongoing efforts aimed at transforming Abia State.

Stakeholders and residents of the Ezeukwu community expressed gratitude to the Governor for responding to their plea, describing the intervention as both timely and strategic.
