THE ANCA MOVEMENT STARTS ITS JOURNEY WITH THE SUCCESSFUL HOSTING OF AN EASTER RETREAT IN OHAFIA.

The 21st of April Easter Monday retreat organized by Abia North Consultative Assembly defied all odds against its stillbirth to begin a new chapter in public advocacy in the zone. Despite a drab Easter Monday bedeviled by the usual sit at home menace, the ANCA summit managed an attendance that surpassed its expectations to signify a new search by the people for political options in the way we conduct our affairs. ANCA itself, an esoteric movement whose birth place is 20 Ugwuegbenzu close, Amaekpu Ohafia intends to step up advocacy in the frontline local governments of Abia North, comprising of Arochukwu, Ohafia, Bende, Isiukwuato, and Umunneochi.

These frontline LGAs are found to be commonly under the threat of insecurity, energy poverty, non existent water supply, fulani cattle menace, seizure of forests by foreign invaders, depletion of agricultural yield, badly tempered electoral processes, infrastructure challenges and so on and so forth. ANCA realizing that these are not issues that should be left to the governments and the political parties alone who constitute less than 5% of the population gross to grapple is expected to compliment the government efforts. In attendance for the Easter Monday retreat were members of the academia, politicians, businessmen, public advocacy groups, technocrats and community leaders to cross fertilize ideas on how to galvanize Abia North communities to unite in finding common solutions to myriad of problems.
