Chief Eleanya Ojuu Kalu flags-off 2nd Round Routine Immunisation Vaccine Catch-up Program in Ohafia LGA.
Today, the Mayor of Ohafia LGA, Chief Eleanya Ojuu Kalu, flagged off the 2nd round routine immunisation vaccine catch-up ceremony. The event aimed to sensitize mothers on the importance of vaccination in preventing unforeseen diseases in children.
According to the Mayor, it is crucial for all mothers within the LGA to observe this health sensitization to protect their children from vaccine-preventable diseases. The Mayor emphasized the significance of vaccination in ensuring the health and well-being of children, which aligns with global health recommendations.
The Catch-up Vaccination Campaign Program initiated by Governor Alex Chioma Otti OFR, to provide optimal protection against diseases by completing a person’s recommended vaccination schedule in the shortest possible time frame in Abia State. “This initiative is particularly important for children who may have missed routine vaccinations, as it helps to prevent the spread of infectious diseases ” – Chief Eleanya assures.
The ceremony marked the beginning of the 2nd round of the routine immunisation vaccine catch-up campaign in Ohafia LGA. The Mayor’s efforts to promote vaccination and disease prevention demonstrate a commitment to improving public health in the region.
