In the run-up to the 2023 Governorship election, Candidate Alex Otti was not only the most qualified, he was the most prepared to return power to the people and use public funds for public good. He was obviously not oblivious of what to expect when he was fighting to unseat and dislodge an entrenched system and her structures of criminality. 24 years was more than enough for the oppressors of Abia and Abians to infiltrate and permeate all segments and fabrics of Abia State Society including different unions and bring their leadership under the control and influence of the entrenched bad order to protect the interest of the oppressive Government and sacrifice the welfare of their members.

They now have all ready made quick fix and solutions to all the humongous problems and mess they created. The shameless wailing and ranting by funny characters whose primitive acquisitions and possessions without enterprise are surplus values of unpaid salaries and pensions dispossessed from Abia workers and pensioners including the good Infrastructures denied Abians with heaps of refuse and debris left to litter across the State confirms their bitterness and frustration. In the last 2 weeks, the new chorus has been, ‘Which Project can Mr. President come to Commission in Abia?’. In their petty assessment, they think that Governor Otti plays to the gallery of visionlessness. They will remain blind and bitter to see and appreciate the clinical precision of Governor Otti’s need assessment developmental model.

Governor Otti is meticulously addressing the needs of Abians not the wants or expectations of frustrated Lootocrats. In fulfilment of his electoral promise to stimulate Abia economy, salaries and pensions are paid as and when due, arrears of salaries are being defrayed even as those who looted and enriched themselves while Abia workers and pensioners starve continue to cry foul, over 150 impassable Roads have been repaired, rehabilitated, reconstructed and maintained with drainages and signature solar streetlights, schools, healthcare centres and hospitals are at different stages of recovery, rehabilitation and retrofitting, several abandoned public buildings have been recovered, rehabilitated, retrofitted and put to use while many are still undergoing renovation and refurbishment, the strides in effective waste and pollution management, environmental security and general cleanliness of the hitherto stinking Streets have baffled and humbled the bitter cynics and naysayers, the ongoing reconstruction of Roads to reconnect all parts of the State that were cut-off before now, erosion control projects and the support to nano and small businesses are life changing projects and programs of the Government that have put Abia State on the National and Global Map.

What can be more hypocritical than being proud of inviting President Obasanjo to commission a 1Km single lane Umuola Road while writing-off over 6KM expanded 3 Lane Ossah Road, now Aguiyi-Ironsi Boulevard as not befitting for commissioning by the President. How about College Road, University Road, Toonak Drive, Udeagbala Road, Umuimo Road, Umule Road, Jubilee Road, Kent Road, Obiora Road, Cemetery Road (Phase 1 & 2), Queens Street, Emelogu Road, Green Avenue, Abak Street, Umuocham Road, Omoba Road, Old Express/MCC, Dozie Way, Ugwu Court, Abiriba, etc are not deserving of Presidential commissioning for a former Commissioner who has been living in Enugu and didn’t attempt to compete with Enugu during his time in office.

How about the abandoned public buildings like Nnamdi Azikiwe Secretariat, JAAC building, Workers Secretariat and others which are now wearing a new look and have been put to proper use by Governor Otti’s administration. The Governor is desirous of serving and satisfying the people of Abia under whose mandate he is serving and not funny and petty characters who have gone paranoid and are still battling with Post-Election Loss Disorder (PELD) to see or admit that those things they failed to do over the years that caused them to be rejected by the people at the polls are being frontally confronted and addressed by their nightmare, ‘Otti can never be Governor’ who retired them and remove their conduit pipes to Abia Treasury? Port-Harcourt Road, Ohanku Road, Omuma Road, Ekeakpara-Osisioma Road, Umuahia-Arochukwu Road, Nunya-Eluama Road, Ndi Okereke-Arochukwu Road are not deserving of Presidential commissioning but less than 300 Metres Oomne Road was commissioned by President Obasanjo during the days of the same serial critic as Commissioner for Finance.

Governor Alex Otti understands how investment works and started with laying the groundwork for investors to naturally come to the State. The Abia Industrial Innovation Park is on course, the ground-breaking of Enyimba Hotels concessioned to Radisson Blu with a Convention Centre and Leisure Park will happen soon, the Medical Village project is on course and will be flagged-off soon, work has started at the Abia Airport Project Site, and the contract for the deployment of Fiber Optic Infrastructure for improved Internet Connectivity was signed few days ago and deployment will begin in the day ahead.
