Abam Community Call For ABIA State Government’s Swift Action on Resolved Land Dispute.

In the heart of Abia State, the Ndi Ojiugwo Autonomous Community in Abam, Arochukwu Local Government Area, is fervently appealing to Governor Alex Otti for immediate intervention in a long-standing land dispute. The community, led by President General Mr. Ikwan Ebe Uka, is seeking the governor’s assistance to implement the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the Ogbuebulu Rice Farm land.

During a recent press briefing, Mr. Uka expressed the community’s urgent need for the government to expedite the process. “We are calling on Governor Otti to act swiftly,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of allowing farmers to access their lands without fear of harassment.

The Supreme Court’s ruling, which was intended to settle the dispute, has yet to be enforced, leaving the community in a state of uncertainty. The delay has hindered agricultural activities, impacting the livelihoods of many local farmers who rely on the land for their sustenance.

The community’s plea highlights the broader issue of land disputes in the region, which often result in prolonged legal battles and economic stagnation. The resolution of such conflicts is crucial for fostering peace and development in rural areas.

Governor Otti’s intervention is seen as pivotal in restoring order and ensuring that the community can resume farming activities. The call for action underscores the community’s desire for justice and the restoration of their rights to the land.
