UKA LA AGADI IFU: A DECEITFUL TALE OF A FAILED BID TO HAVE HIS BROTHER IMPOSED AS COUNCILORSHIP CANDIDATE

Our initial attitude was to ignore Mr. Chinedu Obilor (Iyierioba) and his poorly made video, but on a second thought, we felt that we should set the records straight. Mr. Obilor pleaded with me to assist his brother emerge as a Councillorship Candidate in Afugiri Ward, Umuahia North LGA. I promised to speak to party leaders in the LG as imposition was not allowed. I also encouraged him to get his brother to sell himself to the people.

Iyierioba would later send Governor Alex Otti a message pleading that the governor gives the ticket to his brother. The governor responded by directing him to the party as he doesn’t impose candidates.
When all his efforts failed, he decided to do his “Uka La Agadi Ifu” video.

It’s obvious that Iyierioba is not on ground and properly informed to know that we have a lot of stakeholders, supporters and foot soldiers whom the Governor recognises and respects at all times, and thus could not have had a list where he Iyierioba expected the Governor to put his brother’s name without reference to stakeholders of the ward.

Would Iyierioba have done his video if his brother was imposed?
Would he have predicted doom if his selfish interest was met?
Would it have been right to impose his brother against the wishes of majority of the people there?
May I encourage Iyierioba to embrace the real virtues of loyalty which include Patience, Character, Courage, Consistency and Altruism, which if he had, he wouldn’t have done the video he did, because it exposed him as a featherweight and pretentious loyalist whose patience and loyalty were tied to emergency selfish political interest.

We will continue to embrace democratic ethos in our political decisions, but we will never succumb to blackmail and cheap propaganda.
