LP LG Election Primaries Outcome: 5 things to know as we enter the next phase of the campaigns ahead of the Nov. 2 election …

  1. In supporting the emergence of popular candidates supported by stakeholders across the 17 LGAs, Gov. Otti has shown that he understands the dynamics of party politics and how to arrive at outcomes that serve the long term best interests of the party, and Ndi Abia across political divides.
  2. Disagreements are inevitable in a political contest but how they are resolved tells the story of the maturity of the actors, and their willingness to take the longer view. I am glad that handshakes are beginning to happen across divides and hopefully, in no time, everyone comes together as we push ahead for victory.

  1. The soaring popularity of Governor Otti across the entire State has already done 95% of the job for the candidates as I do not think that any community will want to take its people along the path fraught with endless dangers as we saw over a 24 year period before the light of God shone on us through Gov. Otti and the LP.
  2. There is a reason people are very much interested in this year’s LG election. The expectation is that great things will start happening at the grassroots as the wind of development spread across all parts of the state.
  3. A new process has begun, everyone will not become the LGA mayor or ward councillor at the same time. Yes you are qualified, you have supported the party, and you have a stake in the process. But again, rewards for sacrifices do not get to everyone at the same time. If yours don’t come today, have faith. Tomorrow may birth the goods. Let us collectively anticipate a smooth election season here in our dear State.
