DSS Reportedly Arrest Man For Advertising T-shirts Made For ‘Hardship Protest’

Operatives of the DSS has allegedly arrested another Nigerian youth over his involvement in the planned protest.

According to reports, Bashir Abubakar was arrested by the DSS for advertising T-shirts he made for the planned protest.

Recall that ATTNEWS earlier reported that a TikToker, Junaidu Abdullahi aka Abusalma was remanded at a correctional facility in Kano State for posting about the protest.

Disclosing arrest of Bashir Abubakar, Omoyele Sowore earlier wrote on his X page:

“The lawless @OfficialDSSNG has began inciting the public to riot even before the D-Day, early this morning they arrested a young man Bashir Abubakar in Kano.

“His offence was that he advertised that he’s made T-shirts for the upcoming protests. Earlier another young activist was sent to prison in Kano for posting about the protest. The @OfficialDSSNG must release Abubakar immediately. #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria #DaysOfRage #RevolutionNow”

It will be recalled that in a lengthy tweet published on his X account on Saturday, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, warned against staging a protest against the federal government.

Onanuga, on the other hand, proposed a Save Nigeria Rally from August 1–15, 2024, in response to preparations for statewide protest on August 1–10 over growing cost of living and economic hardship.
