Today, June 30th, Governor Alex Otti, OFR, attended Church Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Parish, Danfodio Road, Aba.

Addressing the joyous congregation who could not hide their joy of worshipping with the performing Governor, having anticipated his coming during the 2023 electioneering period. Governor Otti thanked them for their support in his journey to rescue Abia State. He said that he knew they were for him having received him well the time he visited during the previous campaigns and elections.

Governor Otti told and reassured the people not to be discouraged or panic because of the recent attacks on the security agents in the State; saying that it was the handiwork of the enemies of the State who are opposed to the new lease of life and joy of Abians under his administration. He said that Abia is safe and reiterated that the government will fish out those responsible for the recent attacks against the security agents because the State has no space for criminals.

Earlier in his sermon, the guest preacher, Rev. Fr. Okechi Kelvin described Governor Otti as the sun of Abia whose coming Abians had anticipated long ago and that he is already justifying the hope of the people through the great works he is doing in the State. Fr. Okechi said that 16 years ago, Abians lost hope and any time Abia State was mentioned, people made caricature of it but today, the story of Abia has changed because of the good works of the Governor. He Prophesied to the congregation that as God is doing a new thing in Abia through Governor Otti, He will do a new thing in their individual lives.

The Governor was accompanied to the Church service by the Lawmaker representing Aba Central Constituency in Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Ucheonye Stephen, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba PhD, the Mayor of Aba South, Hon. Uche Nwogu and other top Aides of the Governor.
