THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD AND THE NEW ABIA IS THAT:
- In the Old Abia, hoodlums and thugs were used to carry out demolition of property, whereas in the new Abia, authorised professionals and officials of government agencies are used for such tasks.
- The Old Abia had no room for dialogue and round table conference or engagements. No room to feel the pulse of the people and no room for professional assessment, documentation and compensation.
- In the New Abia, there is consideration, compassion and compensation, and of course, projects are executed, but in the Old Abia, people were beaten up, treated with disdain; demolitions were poorly and selfishly done while projects were never executed.
- In the Old Abia, they stormed sites without pre-notice and without proper communication and information, and operated like angry coup plotters and violent invaders, but in the new Abia, there’s command and control which prevents lawlessness and absolutism.
Expect much more in the New Abia.
