CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (CAN) ABIA CHAPTER, UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTS BISHOP DR. SUNDAY NDUKWO ONUOHA ADC CANDIDATE FOR ABIA GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION.
The Abia State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria today unanimously adopted Bishop Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha, the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress,(ADC) as their consensus candidate in the governorship election holding in March this year.
Before Bishop Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha addressed the Church leadership, he introduced Dr. Uduma Nnate DG Abia North Political Projects Forum to explain to Abia CAN leadership the criteria and process of Endorsement of his candidacy. This Dr. Uduma Nnate enumerated with a loud ovation from the CAN Representatives.
After Dr. Uduma Nnate’s presentation and questions and answers session from CAN State Leaders and Coordinators from 17 LGs in Abia State, Bishop Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha was called upon to address the CAN State and LG Exco. Bishop Onuoha was grilled for over an hour and he took time to satisfactorily answer every question and gave every assurance of participatory governance, Godly and righteous leadership to change the narrative of Abia.
Speaking, the Chairman of CAN , Abia State, Apostle General Emmanuel O. Agomoh told the CAN State leaders and LG Coordinators that it’s time for the Church to adopt its own and support a man of proven integrity like Bishop Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha and that LG Coordinators should take the message down to their local government areas and communities.
In their different speeches, the Abia Deputy CAN Chairman, Bishop Dr. Aluka Onyenjuala and Engr. Dr. Okey Mgbeahuru JP, Abia CAN Secretary extolled the credibility and integrity of Bishop Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha, saying he is the right man to rescue Abia State. Stating that it is time for God’s own State to be rescued and governed by a man of God. And that Christians cannot continue to be indifferent and allowing ungodly people to govern them sighting State of infrastructural decay and non payment of workers salaries and Pensioners in the State.
Thereafter, the LG Coordinators unanimously adopted Bishop Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha. Saying that whether he has structure or not, the Church is his structure and will mobilize church State wide to Support him.
Bishop Sunday Onuoha,thanked the Christian body for their reception and adoption, and promised never to let the Church down.
