TOP STATE EXCO & LG OF ACCORD PARTY AND BISHOP EMEKA NWAMKPA CAMPAIGN COUNCIL MEMBERS DEFECT TO ADC FOR BISHOP SUNDAY NDUKWO ONUOHA.

Over 12 Top members of State Exco &LG Chairmen of Açcord Party and Bishop Emeka Nwamkpa yesterday defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to Support Bishop Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha.

Addressing the press to announce their defection, the spokesman of the group, Dr John Chukwu, who until the defection was the deputy director-general of Bishop Emeka Nwankpa Campaign Council said he with his followers decided to defect to join forces with Bishop Dr Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha to achieve the dream of Abians to produce a credible governor for Abia State. Dr Chukwu eulogized Bishop Onuoha, enumerating some of his attributes that had caught their attention and interest. He talked about about Bishop Onuoha’s integrity, his sound education and qualifications, his being a bishop well known nationally and internationally, his versatility and wide connections, and the fact that he was playing a state politics and not zonal politics. Dr Chukwu said that he was collapsing his political structure for Bishop Onuoha to actualize his dream as a statewide project. Speaking at the occasion also, the Zonal Campaign Coordinator for Abia North said he agreed to joining forces with Bishop Sunday Onuoha for conscience sake and also for equity. He said his mind was not at peace while he worked to promote Bishop Emeka Nwankpa. He promised to put his best efforts for the victory of Bishop Onuoha and ADC.

Others who spoke at the occasion included Mr Ukeje Kenneth Chukwu, who was former State deputy youth leader of Accord party. Daniel Chukwu from Umuahia South and another from Isiala Ngwa North(Both LG Chairmen) also spoke at the occasion.

Receiving the new members on behalf of the State party Chairman, Mr Obioma Onwukaike, the State ADC Secretary, Mr Ndubuisi Sunday, expressed pleasure at the development and the choice of the new entrants of Bishop Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha and the party ADC. The party scribe used the opportunity to dispel the rumours that Bishop Onuoha was not contesting the election. He described the rumour as a fallacy, adding that come 2023, Bishop Dr Sunday Onuoha would resume office as the next governor of Abia State.
Prof Okpo Otta, the ADC candidate for Bende North State Assembly, welcomed the group and wished well as they integrate themselves and work to deliver Bishop Onuoha in the coming election.

In closing the event at Vision Africa conference hall, the Director General of Abia North Political Projects Group, Dr Uduma Nnate, appreciated the group for their choice of Bishop Dr Sunday Onuoha. He assured them that they had come to the right place to work to deliver the best candidate in the coming election. He also told them that they had come at the right time when some of them could have some chances in the Campaign Council of Bishop Onuoha about to be constituted. He welcomed them on behalf of Bishop Onuoha, who was away to Abuja on a call of duty.
