Arochukwu/Ohafia Fed. Constituency 2023: Chief Daniel Okeke and the essentials of preplanned representation
The 2023 general election is coming in earnest. And, for the people of Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency, another opportunity beckons on them to choose their next set of leaders and representatives to navigate the ship of the Constituency from the rubble of delinquency, backwardness, nepotism, grave insecurity, and ineptitude in governance.
During twenty-three years of unbroken democratic rule since 1999, expectations were high that Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, as a Constituency with highly respected and progressive elites, would march decisively to her well-deserved coveted seat in the comity of counterparts.
Ironically, however, the constituency’s anticipated journey to glory came out to be a march to folly and the glimmering hope of gloriousness obscured into the thick darkness of gloom. Untold hardship, pervasive misery, and poverty have been the inescapable consequence, which has become the defining appearance of the Progressive constituency would have become. The condition keeps deteriorating by the day, especially in the last seven years of the rudderless People’s Democratic Party(PDP) leadership in the State.
With the declining human development index and the constituency having the mishap of being ranked as the worst-represented constituency in the state, there is nothing to cheer about.
There is this general belief that Abia has been where it is because there have been no leaders and, as Harry S. Truman, one-time President of United States of America said, “Without leaders, society stands still. Progress occurs when courageous, skillful leaders seize the opportunity to change things for the better.”
It has become compulsory for all who love Abia State to put all hands on deck, to join the All Progressive Congress (APC) in its avowed mission to rescue the state from the rubble created by the inept PDP government in the last decades.
In the rundown to the primary election for the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Chief Daniel Chimezie Okeke, sought to represent the people of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency as they clamored for progressive and competent representation. Chief Daniel Okeke emerged winner of the most keenly contested primary election.
Chief Daniel Okeke is loaded with a vision to give efficient legislative representation and strive to reposition the people of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in mainstream national politics and to attract good and fair deals for the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the Nigerian project.
With a progressive mission to work diligently and deliver on his legislative responsibilities of lawmaking, Chief Daniel Okeke is poised to initiate Bills and sponsor Motions that will not only meet the expectations and aspirations of the Arochukwu/Ohafia people but help crystallize the nation’s democracy and also offer abundantly, tangible dividends of democracy to our dear constituents, the good and supportive people of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.
As an astute entrepreneur, it is the vision of Chief Daniel Okeke to ensure the establishment of industries in our constituency and ensure that they are well funded and positioned to provide thousands of job opportunities for our unemployed and underemployed youths.
Based on the importance of entrepreneurship as the major way out of poverty and unemployment in developing countries like Nigeria, Dr. Daniel Okeke intends to establish Skills Acquisition and Vocational Centres/ Entrepreneurship to train our gifted and talented youths with the requisite skills to make them become not only wealth creators but employers of labour as well. No doubt, this in the long run will improve the socio-economic prosperity and transformation of the people and the area.
Speaking at an event recently, Okeke stated, “My vision is simply to offer quality legislative representation and reposition Arochukwu/Ohafia in mainstream and national politics that will guarantee our people of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency benefit more from the Nigerian project.
“I have mapped out techniques that will ensure the industrialization of the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency by encouraging investors and entrepreneurs that will invest massively in our constituency by establishing industries and factories that will see to the creation of empowerment and employment opportunities for our people ” . Okeke added.
The APC candidate for the House of Representatives, Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, has assured that if elected as a representative of the Arochukwu and Ohafia people in the National Assembly, he will ensure all the Development Unions in the constituency and our highly respected traditional rulers enjoy a pride of place as they would remain central to his engagements in the House of Representatives in Abuja. He will engage presidents-general of communities development unions to ensure that only projects of concrete economic value to the people are attracted to such communities.
My fellow Constituents 18 February 2023 is the Day to make our constituency great again.
